Mask / COVID-19 Policy

Current guidelines do not require masks at this time. However, to ensure the safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff, we strongly encourage all Museum visitors to wear masks while visiting the Mansion.  

As COVID-19 continues to evolve, we will update our procedures and policies, accordingly, following CDC and the State of CT guidelines as well as industry standards for best museum practices. If you are feeling unwell or experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you stay home and visit the Museum at another time.

Guided Tours

1-hour Holiday Tour (Nov. 25-Dec. 31)

Join us for a 1-hour Guided Tour of the new holiday exhibition, A Holiday Wonderland at the Mansion. Curated by Museum Consultant Stacey Danielson with the assistance of Trustees Mimi Findlay and Paul Veeder and the LMMM Curatorial Committee, the exhibition will capture the magic of the holiday season with historic-era tree displays, an enchanting winter wonderland featuring a 19th-century skating scene, a festive holiday dinner party, magnificent gowns, and more. Recognized for the past two years as one of the 10Best Holiday Historic Home Tours in the U.S. by USA Today, the Museum will explore treasured Victorian holiday traditions and feature beautiful 21st-century Christmas trees and seasonal displays by interior designers Victoria Vandamm of Vandamm Interiors and Marcia Taylor Reid of Taylor Reid Design LLC, as well as floral designer Danna DiElsi of The Silk Touch.

The Holiday Tour also includes viewing of the new juried art exhibition, Hues of Freedom (through Dec. 18).

Purchase Tickets

Tickets are available for purchase in advance at the link above. Walk-ins are welcome to purchase tickets at the door and subject to availability. Tour capacity is 15 people. We ask that you are ready 5 minutes prior to the start of your tour, as tours begin promptly at their designated times. Whether you’ve reserved a ticket ahead of time or are a walk-in, latecomers will not be guaranteed a spot on the tour. All sales are final. No Refunds.

Our friends from the National Trust for Historic Preservation will receive a 10% discount. A membership card must be presented when purchasing admission tickets. Please call (203) 838-9799 to redeem discount.

$5 Mini Tours

Mini Tour Dates: check back for updates on 2023 dates

The Museum offers $5 Mini Tours on various days throughout the season in place of docent-led Guided Tours. Mini Tours allows visitors to drop in at any time during the hours of operation and explore the first floor of the Mansion at their leisure, with docents present in each Period Room to provide information and answer questions. The admission fee of $5 applies to all visitors, including LMMM members.

Private Events

Walkthroughs for weddings, parties, and other private events are offered by appointment only.

Group Tours

Groups of 8 or more are considered a Group Tour and require a minimum two-week reservation. Use the online form or call (203) 838-9799 ext. 6 to request a tour.  Group Tour Request

Museum Policies

  • No food or drink is allowed inside the Mansion’s period rooms.
  • Photography is permitted without flash.
  • Due to the limited width of some of the rooms and paths, strollers are not permitted inside the Museum and should be left in one’s vehicle. Large backpacks, as well as recreational wheeled devices such as wagons, bikes, skate shoes, etc. are prohibited.
