The Museum offers up to 5 internships to students from middle school to college annually. Interns assist across the Museum departments: from administrative, to curatorial, to archival, to public and educational programs including tours. Every year, LMMM receives many requests for internships and the Museum’s staff and volunteer educators provide their time, guidance, and training to help them acquire important skills for the future. Interns come to the Museum from institutions throughout Fairfield County, including Norwalk High School, Brien McMahon’s Center for Global Studies, the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program, Eastern Connecticut State University and UConn, Storrs, to name a few. Since its inception, LMMM interns have been accepted, many through full or partial scholarships, at such colleges as Yale, the University of Connecticut, NYU, and George Washington University, to name a few.At this time, all internships are unpaid, however, students may reach out to the Education Coordinator about fulfilling academic credit(s). For more information or if you are interested in inquiring about an internship opportunity, please contact our Manager of Museum Services Charles Hill via email or (203) 838-9799 x 117, or complete the form below:
