On Saturday, June 11 is the 18th annual Connecticut Open House Day—a day dedicated to celebrating all the incredible attractions in Connecticut.
During this one-day event, the Museum will open its doors to the public for special $5 Mini-Tours of the first-floor Period Rooms, including the must-see exhibition titled, Making It Last: Sustainable Fashion in Victorian America, which explores the recycling philosophy of the 19th century, as well as the dangerous practices used to create the magnificent gowns worn by high society.
As an added bonus, visitors will receive exclusive free access to the newly-opened permanent exhibit, A Century of Dolls, located on the second floor. This special feature is usually only on view during 90-minute Guided House Tours.
