The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is calling for artists for a juried exhibition titled, Fragments of Light, Impressions of Color. The submission deadline is Fri., Feb. 11, 12 p.m. The exhibition will open on Apr. 7 and run through Aug. 28, 2022, and be displayed in the Billiards Room at the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, April 7 for artists, their guests, and the public.

This exhibition will feature artists working in the style of contemporary impressionism, focusing on the effects of light and color, whether through portraiture, painting nature “en plein air” or depicting the urban landscape.

The jurying process will be conducted online by artist and Trustee Gail Ingis, who will select approximately 30 works from digital submissions. 

Media:  watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, small sculpture, and mixed media.

Size Limitations:  No more than 5 feet (60 inches) on all sides.

Eligibility:  Artists that can hand-deliver and pick up their work. We do not provide facilities for shipped work. The artwork entered and accepted in the show cannot be removed from the exhibition until its closing date.

Fee:  $35 for 4 images inclusive of your one-year membership.

Legal Agreement:  Submission of your work to the show means that you are willing to have your work reproduced virtually and in print for any and all museum publicity purposes.

Details:  Accepted work must be hand-delivered on Thursday, March 31, 10:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. Delivery details will be emailed to artists. End of show work must be picked up and signed out. Pick up date is Monday, August 29, 10:00 a.m. – 2 p.m.
