Dear Friends,
The Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum is still undergoing mechanical upgrades, but we are excited to share the news that the reopening of the building is in our sights! As you know, in the past eighteen months the institution has operated at offsite locations with generous support from people like you and in collaboration with thoughtful non-profits.
However, in the spring of 2025, the building will finally reopen to the public making the Mansion available, once again, to communities across the region. With the significant mechanical upgrades generously funded by the State of Connecticut and the City of Norwalk, the Museum will have the ability to serve its diverse communities year-round and offer expanded access and an enhanced visitor experience. But the ability to open our doors to a greater number of youth and adults, expand student programs, and offer an outstanding calendar of events at a new and improved facility will involve greater financial responsibilities.
Your gift will be vital to help us fulfill this exciting future for the Mansion, while continuing LMMM’s mission of preserving and interpreting history and the arts through public programs that engage and enrich our communities, encourage dialogue, learning, and creativity.
We thank you in advance for your support to the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum’s present and future and ask that you make a tax-deductible donation today to our Annual Fund to help us carry out our educational mission, while protecting and preserving this cherished National Historic Landmark.
With gratitude and best wishes,
Douglas E. Hempstead, Chairman of the Board of Trustees
