Regarded as America's first Interior designer, George Platt was responsible for the decorative details of the elaborate French Renaissance Revival style Dining Room.

Originally seating twenty-four guests, the room was designed using exotic woods carved into elegant floral and vine motifs. The ceiling and walls are hand-painted, and depict images of bounty and feasting.
